Twitter has expanded it’s tweet length and Instagram wins story mode…

Sunday 05th to 12th November 2017

Hi All!

I hope you’ve all been having a great week.

This is something I’m going to be sharing with you each week, on a Sunday.

What I’m up to, on what motivates me, and things I am enjoying,

I hope you enjoy

Here’s your weekly dose of “Weekly 5.”

In case you’ve missed it –

If you haven’t heard that Twitter has extended its characters to 280 from 140, you’ve been sleeping under a rock. It’s great news for anyone that wants to get their message across in a tweet, now you can story-tell, in a more detailed way.

I mentioned this was going to happen in a previous weekly5, so when I posted my first long-form tweet this is what I tweeted ~

“Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh About Time! #280characters”.

Now you can send money to friends in Messenger in Euros & British Pounds.💷

Facebook a really becoming the go-to place for everything. This could really affect other companies revenue, by people using messenger to pay each other instead of PayPal or Stripe.

I’m not saying it’s bad for us, in fact, it’s really interesting and a clever way to pay someone. I will be using this to buy and sell cheap Domain names or items I sell on marketplaces online.

They do say that transactions can take up to three days to transfer money which is a bit long for me, but I reckon that they say that because it can take that long, but in some cases, you might receive the money right away.

Skip the line with Google Search & Google Maps. Coming soon to Google, you’ll be able to see the estimated wait times for some restaurants. Now you can decide if the hour is really worth the wait or plan ahead to get a more suited time.

The wait time estimates are based on anonymized historical data, similar to how Google compute the previously launched Popular Times and Visit Duration features.

What I’m doing at the moment –

On Sunday of last week, I was on my very first Podcast. It was a fun experience that I really enjoyed and I thought I was going to be a lot nervous doing but I wasn’t. The podcast is by Mikkel Thorup a member of the community and the podcast is called “The Expat Money Show”. If you listen to podcasts go check it out and leave Mikkel a rating. Also, let me know how I did as this will help me get better at what I talk about in future podcasts.

I’m nearly finished my book guys, that will help show you how to grow an audience and sell anything to them. I’ve to just put it together, get myself a test copy and hopefully have it available for you to order before Christmas. This is everything I’ve learnt on building a community and more.

I want you all to succeed, and with this book, you can.

One of the top or most interesting posts of the week.

I posted a poll this week that really blew up. I asked the question,

“Which one do you prefer and why?”

1.) Instagram Stories

2.) Snapchat Stories

The answers where really interesting as only one person out of 13 chose Snapchat Stories and the reason being is because Instagram is easier to use.

“Back to Basics” Does Not Work

By Jerry Fetta

Jerry is a husband, son of Yahweh, Entrepreneur and owner of 5 privately held businesses

I found Jerry’s post on Medium and what he says on it is very interesting. I’m going to explain it in layman’s terms because what he says even though it’s very simple to understand, he has written it in such a way that’s complex and detailed.

“Back to Basics” does not work because, as humans are programmed to go forward, by starting at the beginning we are pretty much doing the same thing over and over. What we should be doing, and this is what Jerry explains, is “Promote”, which means don’t go backwards, move forward, change something, promote yourself and become better and not the same as you were before…
