I hope you’ve all been having a great week.
This is something I’m going to be sharing with you each week, on a Sunday.
What I’m up to, on what motivates me, and things I am enjoying,
I hope you enjoy
Here’s your weekly dose of “Weekly 5.”
In case you’ve missed it –
The Weekly 5
Yo yo yo, how are you all doing? I love doing these weekly 5’s for you guys because it’s a great way for me to share what’s going on in social media, my life and what’s going on in the community, “Financial Freedom Forever.” I always love feedback as it helps me improve the content I share so, if you’ve got any ideas, complaints or questions send me a DM or comment in the Community and I can go from there.
So, what’s going on in social media land…
On Instagram, eyebrow and eyelid make-up is now a thing and getting some amount of attention. If you have an Instagram page, it would be a good idea to share some stuff like this.
That’s not all on Instagram, you can now finally follow #Hashtags. No seriously, this is great and I’m not just saying this because I can follow my own hashtag #Daftplanet, it’s because now if you building a business, holding competitions, keeping track of interactions, etc you can do this with your hashtag. There’s no need to search for it every time you need an update, you’ll see all the content on your feed.
I’d love to know what you follow, is it yourself, a hobby or something that you’re interested in, leave a comment…
Facebook is giving us more control over what we see and over the next few days, this will give you options to see what’s showing up in your feed. It’s called the “Snooze” which is an option to temporarily unfollow a person, Page or group for 30 days.
So, if you’re sick of seeing your friends baby pics, an Aunts terrible food reviews or a certain person that you’re having an argument with, you can unfollow them for 30 days. This is also totally reversible so you can friend them again as soon as you want.
Snapchat always has the cool stuff. This weekend they’ve released their Lens Studio to the public which is a free desktop app for Mac and Windows. They’ll have user-friendly guides and tools so that students, creatives and developers can use to bring their creations to life and share them with the world. They can do this by sharing they’re Snapcode to anyone they want.
I wrote a post on Twitter a few weeks ago saying that they’ll need to make a few changes or die and what have they done! They’ve changed. I noticed two things this week on Twitter as it is one of my favourite platforms to interact on and I’m there as much as I am on Facebook. What they’ve done is made it easier for creating feeds, ie, stories. So, if you tweet a post, you can now right away use the add button on the top right of the screen to keep posting in that thread. This is really exciting as it creates more of an interaction between users to chat.
The second thing I’ve noticed and I’m still thinking is it a good thing or a bad thing, is that when you now retweet someone’s post, you can leave a comment along with the post, where-as before you had the two options, to do this or not to do this which made things faster.
I suppose they had to do it so they could create more interactions.
What I’m doing at the moment –
During the week I decided to bring back my WordPress website with a few differences. Sometimes it’s good to have a clean slate and over the last few months I’ve been sharing my blog posts on Medium which has created a few followers, but I now think having your own blog is probably a good idea because of five things.
- It’s your own,
- You can say and do what you want,
- Everything in one place,
- Easily found,
- Makes you more authentic.
I’m not saying that sharing your content on social media is bad, it’s actually great because more people will follow you, but having a proper website can be an advantage as you can send people there to view your content, unlike just being on social where everything can be quite a mess when your looking for a certain piece of content.
I seem to have made the right choices when it comes to investing in Altcoin because whatever I put in, I’ve over doubled in the last three days. Here’s hoping for a really great 2018.
As they say, to the sky and beyond…
One of the top or most interesting posts of the week –
On the last Weekly 5, I stated that I was going to write about different categories each month. This month is all about Cryptocurrencies and to kick it off I wrote about Bitcoin and posted it in the Community. It got a great response and it just goes to show, if something is making people money talk about it.
If you haven’t already read it, you can do so on my blog on Medium.
There was another post that asked a very interesting question and got some interesting answers.
The post was by Sanjaya Wickramasinghe,
What do you think the next big wave?
Do not mention crypto, drop shipping, affiliate. they are already doing great.”
Check out some of the interesting answers that were given on
A tip or advice from an Influencer –
This weeks advice comes from “Neil Patel”, SEO expert & Blogger.
On one of his blog posts he was writing about Twitter and during his research he found that according to a study completed by cognitive SEO, the higher the average number of shares, comments, and likes a brand has, the higher their website rank actually is.
This is a great bit of advice and one I realised in September, that’s why I shut down my website and focused on Social Media. But, what I come to realise now, having your own website can be another great tool for people to find you.
Quote, I’m pondering –
“The secret to happiness is freedom… And the secret to freedom is courage.” Thucydides
And as always, please let me know your requests and suggestions in the comments. Which “Weekly5″ above is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Let me know! Just comment below and #Weekly5 in there, so I can find them easily.
Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful week, you guys are Awesome.😎
